Tan Sri Md Nor Yusof
Tan Sri Md Nor bin Md Yusof was appointed as the independent non-executive chairman of PHB on 16 June 2006. He has been appointed as Director and Chairman of Malaysia Airlines Berhad effective 6 August 2015 and resigned from Malaysian Airline System Berhad on the same date. He also sits on the boards of several companies and institutions including Khazanah Nasional Berhad. He was also the former chairman of CIMB Group Holdings Berhad.
He completed his term as executive chairman of the Securities Commission on 31 March 2006. Prior to that appointment, he was the managing director of Malaysian Airline System Berhad after serving a period as Advisor in the Ministry of Finance (“MOF”).
He has spent a significant amount of his working career with CIMB Group Holdings Berhad as a director and more notably as president and chief executive officer of CIMB Bank Berhad (formerly known as Bank of Commerce (M) Berhad). Tan Sri Md Nor graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from the University of Otago, New Zealand and qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
Dato’ Sri Dr. Mohmad Isa bin Hussain
Dato’ Sri Dr. Mohmad Isa bin Hussain, graduated with a PhD in Finance from Universiti Putra Malaysia. He also holds an MBA in Finance from the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Bachelor of Economics (Honours) (Applied Statistics) from the University of Malaya and a Diploma in Public Management from National Institute of Public Administration.
He commenced his career as assistant director in the Prime Minister’s Department in 1983 before serving as assistant director in the Economic Planning Unit of Pahang in 1985. He has held various positions in the Ministry of Finance, including assistant secretary in the Government Procurement Division in 1990, senior assistant director of the Budget Management Division in 1995 and deputy under secretary of Investment of MKD (Inc.) and the Privatisation Division in 2004. He moved to the Ministry of Transport Malaysia in 2008 as deputy secretary general (operation) before he was appointed as Head of the Public Land Transportation Commission in 2009. In 2010, he was appointed as deputy under secretary of Government Investment Companies division of MOF and under secretary of the same division in January 2015.
Currently, he is a deputy secretary general (investment) of MOF. He is also on the board of directors of FELCRA Berhad, Permodalan FELCRA Sdn Bhd, Assets Global Network Sdn Bhd, K.L. International Airport Berhad, Penang Port Holdings Berhad, Export-Import Bank of Malaysia Berhad (EXIM Bank), Syarikat Jaminan Pembiayaan Perniagaan Berhad, Syarikat Jaminan Kredit Perumahan Berhad, DanaInfra Nasional Berhad, Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Berhad, NECC Sdn Bhd, Piramid Pertama Sdn Bhd, Integrated Nautical Resort Sdn Bhd Garuda Suci Sdn Bhd, Turus Pesawat Sdn Bhd, AES Solutions Sdn Bhd, Malaysia Airport Holding Bhd (MAHB), Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT) and Langkawi Development Authority. He was appointed as director of PHB in January 2007.
Datuk Puteh Rukiah Abd. Majid
Datuk Puteh Rukiah binti Abd Majid was appointed to the Board on 26 September 2006 and presently she is an independent non-executive director of PHB. She graduated with a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) from University of Malaya and a Masters in Economics from Western Michigan University, United States of America.
Datuk Puteh Rukiah started her career with the government of Malaysia in 1976 and has held various positions in the Economic Planning Unit, Prime Minister’s Department and the Implementation and Coordination Unit, Prime Minister’s Department. In 1990, she served the Ministry of Finance until 2011 and her last position was the deputy secretary general (systems and controls) at the ministry.
Datuk Puteh Rukiah’s directorship in other public companies includes Gas Malaysia Berhad, Pos Malaysia Berhad, Zelan Berhad and MIMOS Berhad.
Dato’ Mohd Shukri bin Hussin
Dato’ Mohd Shukri bin Hussin is an independent non¬executive director of PHB and also chairman of the audit committee of PHB. He was appointed to the Board of PHB on 2 October 2013.
Dato’ Mohd Shukri graduated with a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) degree from University Malaya and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He served CIMB Group Holdings Berhad for 27 years and his last position was as executive director of CIMB Group Holdings Berhad until his retirement in December 2011.
Currently, he is also a director of Sun Life Malaysia Assurance Berhad, Sun Life Malaysia Takaful Berhad and LeapEd Services Sdn Bhd. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of CIMB Foundation.
Dato’ Paduka Sulaiman Mustafa
Dato’ Paduka Sulaiman bin Mustafa is an Independent Non-Executive Director of PHB and Chairman of Board Risk Committee of PHB. He was appointed to the Board of PHB on 18 July 2006.
He has over 42 years of working experience in real estate professional services. He finished his O-Levels and A-Levels education at the Royal Military College, and on Federal Government scholarship, he went to London in 1969 and successfully sat and completed in three (3) years the professional course in Chartered Surveying, specialising in Property Valuation, Management & Consultancy of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (“RICS”). In the process, he won the RICS’ Julian Rogers’ prize for being the best student in the RICS examinations in the Commonwealth.
On his return to Malaysia in 1973, he was posted as a valuation officer in the Federal Government Ministry of Finance’s Jabatan Penilaian dan Perkhidmatan Harta and less than a year later in the role of Acting Deputy Director for the Selangor state.
Less than two (2) years in service, he resigned in 1975 to join Baktimara Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary company of Majlis Amanah Rakyat as Property Manager and in the same year he was invited to lecture at University of Technology Malaysia where he continued as Senior Lecturer until 1978.
Whilst continuing as Senior Lecturer, he left Baktimara in 1976 to become the Associate Partner of Jones Lang Wootton (“JLW”) and in 1978, a Proprietary Partner of the firm.
He is currently the Deputy Chairman, Executive Director and Senior Partner of JLW, and is actively involved daily with all aspects of the firm’s services whilst at the same time serving as Trustee/Director at Dana Amal Jariah.
Datuk Fazlur Rahman Ebrahim
Datuk Fazlur Rahman bin Ebrahim is an Independent Non-Executive Director and also the Chairman of Investment Committee of PHB. He was appointed to the Board of PHB on 18 July 2006.
He is the former Managing Director of Prokhas Sdn Bhd, a company wholly-owned by the Minister of Finance, Incorporated. He is currently the Corporate Advisor of Johor Corporation and sits on the Board of Securities Commission Malaysia, Credit Counselling and Debt Management Agency, Permodalan FELCRA Sdn Bhd and Dana Amal Jariah. He is also a member of the Shariah Council of BNP Paribas Malaysia Berhad, the Audit Committee of the Razak School of Government and the Investment Committee of Majlis Amanah Rakyat. He has served as Chief Executive Officer of Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad, Chief Operating Officer of Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad and a Non-Executive Director of Felda Global Ventures Holdings Berhad, Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad, Export-Import Bank of Malaysia Berhad, Malaysia Debt Ventures Berhad, Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Berhad, Syarikat Jaminan Pembiayaan Berhad and Syarikat Jaminan Kredit Perumahan Berhad.
Datuk Fazlur holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Ohio University, United States of America and Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Finance) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
Datuk Kamalul Arifin Othman
GROUP MANAGING DIRECTOR / CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Datuk Kamalul Arifin bin Othman is the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of PHB. He is a Chartered Surveyor by training with more than 30 years of experience in property investment, property management, property development and real estate investment trusts.
He started his career in 1985 with Rahim & Co. Chartered Surveyors Sdn Bhd before moving on to Permodalan Nasional Berhad in 1988. He then joined Arab-Malaysian Merchant Bank Berhad (now Ambank Group) in 1991 and remained with the group for 16 years with his last position as the Chief Executive Officer of AmProperty Trust Management Berhad which managed the first listed property trust in the country.
Datuk Kamalul Arifin sits on several boards including UiTM Holdings Sdn Bhd, Penang Sentral Sdn Bhd and a member of the property investment committee of Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad. He is also an adjunct professor with the Faculty of Built Environment, University of Malaya.
He has also served as the first President of the Malaysian Institute of Professional Property Managers for the year 2011/2012 and a Council Member of the Federation of Investment Managers Malaysia. He has participated in many conferences as speaker and moderator and has written various articles related to the property industry for professional journals and publications.
Datuk Kamalul Arifin holds a Bachelor of Estate Management (Honours) from Universiti Teknologi MARA and Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Ohio University, Athens, United States of America. He is a Fellow of both the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, United Kingdom (FRICS) and the Royal Institution of Surveyors, Malaysia (FRISM).
